The eating disorders gained greater prominence in the media and popular knowledge because of cases of teenagers without diet control, had serious health problems, even to be cases of death. The best known dysfunctions are: bulimia, the anorexia, the obesity and malnutrition. More recently also became threats to orthopraxis and vigorexia. Let’s look at what each one of them:

Malnutrition

This can be said that it is the only one of the above mentioned illnesses which the individual is completely victim. It does not happen by choice, but because of the socio-economic situation in which he finds himself.

This eating disorder is caused by an inappropriate diet for the physical needs of the individual. In it there is the absence of the amount of calories and proteins necessary for the proper functioning of the body. It mostly happens in people of low social class and children from underdeveloped countries, but can also happen as a result of anorexia.

Anorexia and Bulimia

Common eating disorders these days are Anorexia which is often associated with bulimia, and can occur while an individual. The features similar to bulimia, anorexia symptoms and is even more common and may reach 1 in 4 adolescents (moderately).

These disorders come from dissatisfaction with physical appearance. The person sees himself always as if overweight, making it dependent on a life of hardship in the quest to reach the ideal weight. Both have psychological nature and should be treated simultaneously by a specialist and a medical psychologist.

In the case of bulimia, the following symptoms may occur (mostly behavioural): a person eats ingesting an exorbitant amount of food, compulsively, and after eating their purpose is to get rid of the food ingested. Why feel guilty, people can take actions such as eating a large amount of laxatives and diuretics or drugs that induce vomiting, fasting for long periods or work out frantically for burning the calories consumed.

Weight loss, however, is not as rapid as the person continues feeding, and thus can live years with the disease without anyone suspected. This causes the initiation of treatment is more difficult and the person’s recovery is slower. Often relapses occur; the person does not admit having the disease, among other complications.

In the case of the eating disorders anorexia, the person is taken to stop eating foods almost completely. You can take steps like weighing foods, measure the amount of liquid that will take, etc.. In addition, the body may start rejecting food and vomiting happens unintentionally soon after a person eats. You can also feel violent stomach pains, rejecting yet feed. Some refuse to eat in front of others.

Anorexia can be detected more easily than bulimia because a person has a fast weight loss and greatly exaggerated. The individual may see a distorted image of them, i.e., the same having been squalid still continues to perceive them as overweight.

In most cases the individual is aware of the disorder that has acquired, by being very apparent, but suffers from prejudice and jokes, which makes its way to a doctor. It is a dangerous disease that has reached a lot of people, in most cases for lack of balance in diet and physical activity.
